try: putting 70 people to death because 3 of their relatives questioned the authority of the guy that's been leading them in circles for 40 years.

try: killing an entire family because the dad stole some token off a battlefield that happened to be consecrated.

try: denying moses entrance to the promised land because he hit a rock twice when god just said to hit it.

try: killing the firstborn son of every egyptian family because the pharoah was a liar.

try: holding the entire nation of israel responsible if the king or high priest accidentally sins.

To be completley fair though, you took some of those truths out of context, to win your argument.

the point i was getting at, which would have been just as clear if i'd quoted the entire pentateuch, was that according to the bible, god has absolutely no trouble with punishing people for other peoples' sins. it's not bad enough that the "god of love" punishes people for their own sins, he punishes them for other peoples' sins too. in fact, god will punish people even just on a dare (the entire book of job), and then has the nerve to chastise THEM when they question him. god also repeatedly breaks his own laws (such as punishing one person for another's sin, even though he stated that no one will be judged for the sin of another). and i don't think we should even get into the whole infinite punishment for finite sin deal, which, as far as i know, is unique among judaism and christianity.
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

list of non canon sources:

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

for those that blindly follow word of god

Personally, I always believed the Jews, especially Moses, hijacked the Old Testament for that reason. Hope I don't get warned for this, I'm being honest.

the entire old testament was actually a rewrite following the babylonian takeover of israel in 589 b.c., iirc. all the original texts were destroyed.
